Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our mission statement at or school is: “We are tenacious about a college-bound future, we act with dignity, we bring pride to our families and community. Our Future Begins Here!" It is difficult for some of my students to picture a college-bound future. They lack many of the skills they need before they step foot into my third grade in August. They are full of spunk and are always on the go. Many of them have parents or guardians that only speak Spanish and are not able to help them with their work at home. We have a large population of students that speak little to no English when they come to our school. They all receive free breakfast and lunch every day. They find traditional seat work very boring and get very distracted when left to work on their own. I want to make the curriculum exciting for them so that they are excited to learn. I want them to have everything that students in other schools have. They work hard and they deserve the best I can give them. They deserve to be successful and to finally picture themselves on their way to a college bound future.

My Project

My classroom right now only has 2 working student computers. We will use these tablets for many things.

One way we will use the tablets is for small math centers during independent work time.

Students who finish quickly and need more challenging work can use the tablets to work on higher grade level content.

Another way we will use the tablets is for my English Language Learners. They will have more access to vocabulary, pronunciation of words and books on their level.

These tablets will be used daily in my classroom to help improve our skills. Thank you for your help donations! My students and I really appreciate your help!
