This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever heard, "Technology is the key to the future?" This key can open many doors including those linked to math and science. Having access to technology through Kindle Fires would enable my students to learn about math, science, and reading in an engaging and interactive manner.

My classroom of 31 eager students is interactive and engaging.

There is great diversity in my Southern California classroom, containing children from many different backgrounds and experiences. The students range in ability from gifted students to students receiving extra support through special education services. Coming from a school recognized for academic excellence, my students desire to be successful and knowledgeable. However, due to budget cuts and no Title One funding, resources to provide the best opportunity for success can be limiting.

My Project

The Kindle Fire provides an endless opportunity of tools to help students succeed. The Fires will encourage and motivate students to do any task given to them to complete. There are an endless array of applications that may be used on these tablets. For example, to help with math facts, students can use "Math Ninja" to quickly solve math problems and stop Tomato-San's army. Another math app, Math Balloons, challenges students to learn basic math facts by popping balloons. There are apps that help with the challenging terminology of math vocabulary concepts. By having access to a Kindle Fire, students will be challenged and motivated no matter their level in math.

The Kindle Fire will bring hours of quality learning exposure to my students.

Students will be excited and motivated to learn about math. This access to technology will engage and stimulate their minds and be the key that opens many doors to learning.
