My Students

To say that our students have had to overcome a lot over this past year is an understatement. Not only have they had to deal with normal societal and economic pressures, but they've had to do so during a worldwide pandemic. Since returning to school, they are stronger, resilient and more ready to take on the world!

Our school is a Title I urban school with the most diverse population in our district (80% BIPOC).

Over 66% of our students qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our sweet students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a large array of experiences to our classrooms and school. School becomes a safe haven for these scholars - where expectations are the same every day and basic needs are met. While they come to school to learn, they thrive when they are given the opportunity to utilize a variety of resources to make learning real and fun.

My Project

My dear students have been through so much in the last couple of years. They have come to our class ready to learn, ready to explore, ready to collaborate. This project will provide the finishing touches for our STEM area and give each student the tools they need to be successful in their learning with others.

My goal is to allow students more time to work together and learn from each other this year - one of the best ways that I see that happen is when students collaborate and discover together.

This project will help provide individual tools to each student so that they can work safely with one another as they explore and discover in our STEM area.
