Help me give my students motivating options for days/weeks they complete all their work and can celebrate their achievements! Additionally, please help me access a printer so I can quickly print differentiated materials for my students!

My Project

All of the students that I work with have a disability that negatively impacts their learning and their outlook towards their educational environment and experience.

I would like to help enhance their educational experience by regularly celebrating their successes, giving them time to relax, select an activity of their choice, (play a game, use a fidget, read/listen to a book using headphones, play an educational online game using headphones, work with letter/word cards, etc), and reflect on the hard work they completed during the day/week.

My hope is that by letting them play a board game, build with blocks, or use a fidget toy at the end of a challenging day/week, students will start to learn that success comes from hard work and from persevering through things initially thought to be impossible.

Additionally, during this relaxation/reflection time, social skills, turn-taking skills, and coping skills will inadvertently be practiced too, more skills that will help them to become more independent and successful in life.

Additionally, as a special education case manager, having access to a private printer would increase my ability keep confidential documents private as they would print directly to my room and not the school office. This will also increase my ability to print materials needed for differentiated instruction ‘in the moment’ without having to leave my classroom to get the materials.
