My Students

Ever try using a computer without a keyboard or a mouse?? My kindergarten students are in great need of these items to effectively utilize the existing computers in the classroom!! Now, imagine trying to manipulate a keyboard or mouse when fine motor skills have not been developed in your hands

My kindergarteners attend a public school in a diverse, urban city in California.

I often joke that my students are representatives in our classroom United Nations. Kindergarteners are enthusiastic learners!! They are excited and excitable about everything!! It brings a smile to my face to see the joy they possess for learning!!

My Project

We are fortunate to have computers in the classroom to reinforce student learning in Language Arts and Mathematics. Students are extremely excited to use the computers. They can't wait for their turns!! I love to see this kind of enthusiasm for learning!! However, the keyboard and mouse for both existing computers are in need of replacement. With these items, students will be able to continue their learning and attain reinforcement of crucial Language Arts and Mathematics skills. Lastly, they will gain knowledge and experience with working with different forms of technology. This adds to their growth and success in their future years. Secondly, there are students in the classroom who need to develop their fine motor skills in their hands so that they can manipulate the keyboard and mouse effectively. These same students require a variety of fun and engaging ways to practice holding a writing tool properly and to practice forming letters, numbers, etc.

Your donations will provide the necessary equipment to directly enhance student learning in Language Arts and Mathematics.

Moreover, students will gain experience utilizing technology that will invariably be apart of their lives. It would be a shame to let the computers in the classroom sit idle because of a missing keyboard or mouse!! In addition, your contribution will also aid students who first need to develop their fine motor skills in their hands so that they can use the computer!!
