My Students

My students come in every day eager to learn. Early on, we set high standards and my students work diligently to meet them. We strive to find new ways to make these high expectations fun and help each other along our journey.

My students enter from many different home situations to work together as a family in our classroom.

As a Title I school, many of my students are lacking some of the things needed to fulfill their basic needs. School is a place where they can come for safety, stability, and a sense that they can achieve anything.

My Project

Fine motor muscles are vitally important in school and in life. Strong fine motor muscles help us write, cut, and manipulate things with our hands. The use of our fingers and hands are essential to daily life.

Fine motor skills need to start being developed at an early age.

I have found that many students are lacking in this area. It affects them greatly in their schoolwork throughout the years. My goal is to get those skills started early.

To build these skills, hands on materials are needed. This requires a variety of materials to build different skills. The playdoh tools, hole punches, etc. all offer opportunities for students to squeeze their fingers in different ways causing their fingers to strengthen. These materials will also be paired in ways to practice academic skills while encouraging the growth of their fine motor muscles.
