This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love to participate in hands on activities. The supplies will be used during sessions with kindergarten and first grade students. They love to see new fine motor games especially the ones that involve manipulating theraputty.
Some of their favorite fine motor activities are the ones that include finding hidden items in theraputty.
They are so proud to be the first one that has found all the hidden items! While they are having fun, they are building hand strength and utilizing both sides of their bodies promoting bilateral coordination skills. The skills promoted during these fun table top activities help them with their pencil grasp, endurance for writing tasks, stabilizing their paper with the helper hand and scissoring skills.
