Finding Yourself in Stories

Help me give my students the opportunity to learn through reading. For this project I am asking for books to support multicultural awareness in my classroom as students often enjoy and find books that they see themselves in.

My Students

I teach six early childhood students aged two to four years old. They are all so active and kind. These little kiddos need a lot of hands on materials to help them learn as they explore the classroom and world around them.

My Project

Young children learn through a variety of ways. Multicultural awareness is something we prioritize in my school and classroom. The books in this project will be used to support students awareness of other cultures.

Something special for pre-K students is finding themselves within the stories.

They take special notice of the characters that they feel look like them. These specific books with give students in my classroom the opportunity to find themselves. It will allow them to feel special in knowing there is someone like them in both the real world and in our stories.
