Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nestled in a diverse nook of the Lower East Side neighborhood in New York City, my elementary school is home to curious, creative and capable students.

Although we have a strong commitment to expressive arts and close ties to the community, the school counseling department is looking for help to meet the emotional, behavioral, and social challenges that compromise students’ ability to succeed academically.

My Project

The counseling department at my school is in need of social-emotional learning resources, books, games and various sensory materials that can help nurture students' mental wellness, mindfulness-building skills and focus so they are ready to learn!

Help me create safe stations for students to calm down, work through their emotions and self-regulate in an overwhelming world.

Such welcoming spaces will be anchored with cozy, welcoming accents, books, counseling games and comfortable furniture.

These resources will help give students the support they need for their classes and to help promote healthy and positive learning in any environment, whether remotely or in class. In these hard times, we understand it may be difficult to help, so even the smallest contribution is deeply appreciated!
