Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in an old DOE building in the South Bronx, so beautifying the space is a must. Students spend more time here than they do at home so creating a 'homey' feel in the classroom is important to me and it helps create a calm/safe learning environment for the kids. Having a beautiful space also makes the kids want to come into school. I believe that my students are special because they constantly show grit regardless of their circumstances.

They constantly come in, show up and show out.

My purpose for ordering the items to help beautify my classroom, I want to create a 'cool down' for them to come in a calm down for a couple of minutes if their ever having a bad day or even moment.
