Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students will use the maps to plan a trip across the United States, practicing their navigation skills, identifying states and their capitals, as well as measurements in math. The budgeting items will be for expenses incurred during the trip.
Young people today have little concept of balancing a checkbook or sticking to a budget.
This project will help students learn how to budget their money, track their spending, and plan ahead financially! It also allows us to cover several standards at once, such as geography, place value, decimals, problem-solving skills, and life skills needed to be financially responsible. They are so excited, that they have already started planning their trips!
