My Project

PBIS is a new initiative in my school but something I've been interested in for quite some time. I have pondered for years on how to make my students learn and participate in positive classroom behavior and expectations.

I didn't want to just have students earn points and be able to redeem them as I felt that was very similar to tickets at a gaming park; something students are familiar with but don't put too much thought in.

My goal is to teach my students basic finance skills in banking, money, and buying decisions but make it fun and engaging. Students will earn "money" through classroom jobs, assignments, and activities that they will be able to buy things such as snacks, headphones, etc. Students will be responsible for managing their own banking accounts and purchases from the classroom store.

I'm excited to provide the prizes I've asked for in addition to activities such as an end of year UNO tournament, no work days, and more! I'm hoping my students learn while having fun.
