Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students represent the diverse cultural and sociology-economic population living in the surrounding neighborhood. Our schedule is such that students often don’t eat lunch for close to five hours. To maintain energy and focus, and to build healthy bodies, we need snack. We understand that many students cannot afford snack, and we are motivated to ensure that each child is supplied with snack and is made to feel part of a greater learning community that shares its resources. We will use the snacks in lessons on financial literacy and budgeting. In this way, they grow as citizens and as lifelong learners using real-world topics.
