My Students

During social studies, my students are diligently working on a writing piece for our classroom newspaper. After reading "Curious George Rides a Bike," my students were inspired to deliver our newspaper to all of the classrooms in our school once it is published.

My students demonstrate passion for learning even when a lesson seems to be tricky.

They are learning to be courageous during whole group and small group work. Math is a favorite subject to all as they use manipulatives such as dice and counters to solve problems.

My Project

The resources that I am requesting will build my students' financial literacy skills. Delivering their classroom newspaper is the start to a promising project of starting a business. One student suggested that they sell their newspaper to members of our school community. I believe that my students will grow further when I propose that we create a classroom store. They will learn about coins and their wants and needs as a shopper.

Donations to this will improve my classroom by exposing my students to money and understand that it has value.

My students will explore what it means to spend money and save money.
