Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are full of curiosity and energy, and they learn best when they’re engaged and active.

To support their learning, I’m requesting donations for a few key items that will enhance our classroom experience, especially when it comes to understanding the basics of financial literacy.

With the help of the seats and standing desk, our classroom will have more opportunities for flexible seating. The desks also can serve as a central space where we can set up our “classroom store,” which will help teach the kids about money management, saving, and spending.

Decodable Books: Reading is a crucial skill, and these books will help my students develop foundational literacy skills while also incorporating stories and lessons about financial concepts. This will support their reading journey and make financial literacy relatable and accessible.

To keep the learning process exciting, I’ll use this costume on Halloween to role play situations with my co-teacher involving making friends, saving money, and other real life scenarios! This interactive approach will make financial literacy concepts come to life and capture my students' attention.

By combining flexible seating, engaging stories, interactive role-play, and hands-on activities, my students will gain an early understanding of financial concepts in a way that’s fun and meaningful. This project will help them develop essential skills!
