My Project
We teach a group of amazing, curious, and hardworking general and special education students in first grade. About sixty percent of our students have a range of disabilities, some of which include learning disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional disturbances, speech and language impairments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Like any other class, our students' abilities and interests range across a wide spectrum. All of our students require individual or small group attention. Each day, we incorporate all of their learning styles, interests, and special education accommodations into our lessons. Some of our students prefer visual or auditory cues for learning, while some require a more kinesthetic or tactile approach. Our students come into our classroom each day with a love of school and a desire to grow as a learner.
Our project will create a fun financial literacy center for first graders, helping them learn important money skills!
In this center, students can use a pretend cash register to practice buying and selling items, making change, and understanding prices. They’ll also enjoy a PlayDoh marketplace where they can create and trade goods, learning about spending and budgeting in a hands-on way. Through fun activities and games purchased with the TPT gift card, kids will gain confidence in managing money, making choices, and setting simple financial goals. This project will make learning about money enjoyable and prepare them for a bright financial future!
I am requesting the dehumidifier for our classroom because it will help control the humidity levels, which can improve comfort and health. By reducing moisture in the air, a dehumidifier helps prevent these problems, creating a healthier environment. It can also protect furniture and materials from damage caused by excess moisture. Overall, having a dehumidifier ensures that our room stays comfortable, clean, and safe for everyone.
