My Students

"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today." This is a quote written by H. Jackson Brown. Our classroom is trying to be the best prepared for the future as we can be.

My students come from high poverty and low socio-economic families.

They are a sweet and shy bunch of students who need all the motivation they can get. We are a Title I school in the heart of the San Fernando valley. Every bit of technology exposure will help my students be the best they can be. Becoming financially literate will better prepare them for the future that lies ahead for them.

My Project

The Microsoft Surface Pro, protective cover, and pen will help my students learn about Financial Literacy. It will allow my students to research, type, graph, and present their work to the other students. They will access websites such as Rich Kid Smart Kid, Savings Quest, KidsBank, H.I.P. Pocket Change. These websites will teach them how to use money wisely, how to save for the things they want, step-by-step exposure to the banking process, and so much more! They will learn financial literacy. These are the skills they need to be college-ready.

Having access to such a modern day technology tool will better prepare my students for the 21st century skills.

With the help of Donors Choose, donors, and CreditReport.com this project can become a reality in my classroom and will benefit the small minds of today to become great minds of tomorrow. They will become smarter and will make positive financially literate choices. After all, we all need financial literacy to be successful!
