This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning my Pre-K students walk into the classroom, take out their binders, put away their backpacks, and sit down to have breakfast in the classroom. They love coming to school to learn, sing, and socialize!

My Pre-K class is comprised of 36 students.

It is split into a morning class and an afternoon class. Our school is a Title 1 school, and most of my students live in a low income area and the majority of them live in non-English speaking households. They are all very eager to learn!

My Project

My students enjoy using technology to learn and re-enforce materials that are taught in the classroom. April is soon approaching, which is financial literacy for youth month. Even though my students are in Pre-K, they already have a sense of money and its importance. Having a touch screen laptop, my students will be able to access to the Internet to tap into resources like instructional websites and youtube videos, that will help them practice the skills I will be teaching them on how to be financially responsible. Just like other subjects like reading and math, financial literacy is an important skill that children need to learn at an early age. Having the laptop, I will also be able to access and download the Earn Your Future Curriculum that would allow my students to have lesson plans to help them be financially responsible!

It's never too early to teach financial literacy skills to students.

Having this laptop will help my students access information on the Internet and also play interactive games that will help re-enforce concepts learned.
