Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the coach for our high school girls' volleyball and basketball teams, my goal extends beyond developing strong athletes; I aim to prepare these young women for success in life. To achieve this, I am requesting an iPad to promote financial literacy among my athletes. This tool will allow me to teach them essential skills such as budgeting, managing money, and applying for scholarships, helping them understand how to balance finances while pursuing their academic and athletic goals.

An iPad will be an essential tool in delivering interactive financial literacy lessons.

Using apps and resources, I will guide my athletes through budgeting exercises, savings plans, and strategies for applying for scholarships to further their education. Additionally, the iPad will allow us to track fundraising efforts, helping the players take ownership of the team’s finances and understand how to budget for an entire sports season. These lessons will not only help them manage their athletic expenses but also set them up for future financial success in college and beyond.

These young women are not just committed to excellence on the court but are eager to learn valuable life skills that will help them succeed off the court as well. Many of my athletes are balancing school, sports, and family responsibilities, and financial literacy will give them the tools they need to handle future challenges with confidence. By teaching them how to manage their finances early, we are preparing them to become independent, successful leaders in their communities.

This iPad will empower my athletes to develop essential financial literacy skills, helping them budget for their current athletic needs and future academic goals. Your support will enable these young women to take control of their financial futures and thrive as both athletes and responsible members of society.
