Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Financial literacy begins with the basics math concepts; number identification, counting, measurements, patterns and reasoning, and classifying and sorting. The lessons, skills, and experiences my students will gain from playing with Play-Doh are endless! Play-Doh in the classroom will encourage my students to engage in basic math activities! My students will have access to a variety of Play-Doh colors. They will be able build numbers with Play-Doh, rote count Play-Doh molds/shapes, and make patterns. We will be able to work on number recognition, rote counting, patterning, and reasoning. We will be able to use different manipulatives, such as cars, pegs, dinosaurs, scissors, stamps, and molding toys (to name a few) along with the Play-Doh. My students will also have the opportunity to use the Play-Doh as a method to relax and focus.
