My Project

As flu and COVID season approaches, teaching elementary students about germs and infection control is more important than ever. Providing a hands-on learning experience using tools like Clorox wipes, a germ HEPA filter, and a Glo Germ kit is a powerful way to make these lessons impactful and memorable. These resources engage students and promote lifelong habits that contribute to healthier communities.

Clorox wipes are essential in demonstrating the importance of surface hygiene.

By allowing students to wipe down commonly touched areas and observe the difference, they learn how cleaning can eliminate harmful germs that cause illnesses. Visualizing the process instills the practice of keeping surfaces clean at school and home.

A HEPA filter provides a practical demonstration of how air purification works to reduce airborne germs. Elementary students often learn best through tangible, real-world examples. The presence of a germ HEPA filter in the classroom allows explaining how clean air reduces the risk of spreading infections like the flu or COVID-19, while also improving overall air quality.

The Glo Germ kit takes the lesson further by making invisible germs visible. Students can see firsthand how germs spread and how proper handwashing techniques can reduce transmission. The kit transforms an abstract concept into a hands-on activity, engaging young minds while reinforcing critical hygiene practices.

Incorporating these tools into lessons about germ prevention makes learning interactive and emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining health. Students take these lessons home, sharing what they’ve learned with their families and communities.
