Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school, meaning over 75% of the students come from low-income families, but this does not stop our students from working hard in class and doing the best they can. The kids I will be getting this year will range from students new to the US from Cuba and speak very little English (ELL), to students with learning disabilities (ESE), to those who are a year or two ahead in math and reading (Gifted). Those more advanced students will buddy up with the lower students and find creative ways to help them learn.

How do I describe my students...simply an AMAZING group of kids.

They generally love learning to work together to ensure each other's success and I could not be any prouder of them!

My Project

Learning from home can be very challenging. These supplies will help me teach my students Math, Science and Social Studies virtually. Not only will I be able to show them how to do the work on the white board, but will be able to print out anchor charts and formulas (to mane only a few) to display that the students will be able to see during our ZOOM lessons.

The supplies will help us both during virtual learning and when we get back to our school building.

Last year I was fortunate enough to receive a Cricut Maker that we used to decorate Science fair projects and make gift for our families (which we will do again this year). Some of these supplies will replenish what we have used and will be assist in labeling student desks and supplies as well as help us get organized.
