Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a diverse community in Queens, NY. They come from a huge variety of economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. We have many ENL students who are new English-language speakers and learners. Over 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school works hand-in-hand with the community to ensure the highest quality education for all students who attend here.

We have a focus on service learning and global conservation, where the students and staff take part in fundraising and creating awareness about issues within the community and around the world. We make global partnerships and teach important citizenship values to our students through these worldwide connections.

My Project

We are looking to provide our students with deodorant, an essential hygiene supply for their growing bodies.

To encourage good hygiene, these products will be supplied to students to help them as their bodies grow and mature.

Many students are embarrassed as their bodies begin to change and we would like to provide them with the essentials to help them in both fifth grade and their transition to middle school.

These deodorants will help both our male and female students, providing them with the essentials they need to promote good body hygiene.
