Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science class is a big part of fifth grade. We spend a lot of time exploring the natural world around us. We get a real thrill discovering the amazing secrets of where our daily food comes from.

Earth Day is every day in our class.

We get to delve into photosynthesis and energy transfer to see where our food gets its energy. Given our urban setting, we don't often see farming in the wild.

But, by bringing different growing methods into the classroom with grow lights, seeds, and growing kits, we get to experience real-world, hands-on farming and gardening at the smallest levels. We observe the day-by-day growing process of plants from seed to roots and shoots.

Plants and fifth graders thrive in environments with conducive lighting and sounds. The speaker and LED lights make that all possible.
