Fidgeting Our Way to Success

Help me give my students a way to learn through their sensory struggles. The whiteboard magnets will help to display their schedules. Desk pets are a great reward system and the light covers will help with light sensitivity.

My Project

If you've ever worked in a classroom with students who have additional needs, you know that fidget toys can be a successful way to help them succeed. My students have found a way to quietly fidget while working, but are looking for other fidgets to help them be even more successful. Another way I'm trying to help them is through visual learning. Some of my students are either non-verbal or non-readers and having a visual schedule displayed on the board can help them to succeed at becoming more independent. The magnetic holders will provide individual schedules for each student in the way they best communicate (visual or time).

My students struggle with staying motivated and they've loved the idea of desk pets, some of these supplies will help prepare our room to welcome desk pet rewards into our daily schedule.

I will be implementing them within our room, with help from Donors Choose. Providing something for the students to work for, is huge in our room and I'm grateful for all of the support this cite has provided to my room.
