My Project

I am in my first year of teaching and this project will help bring a variety of sensory materials to my classroom. These items will help several years of students, starting with a second grade class who had kindergarten on Zoom! Students with and without autism benefit greatly from having a variety of materials accessible to meet their sensory needs. These materials are essential to student learning and engagement and will be extremely helpful as I set up my new classroom.

These materials will be used to help students reach their full potential in the classroom by keeping them calm, focused and engaged.

The students will have access to these material at all times, for breaks when they need quiet time, while transitioning, as well as for when they need something to keep their hands and feet quiet so that they can receive the full benefit of the lessons being taught. It is essential for the students to have access to a variety of materials.
