Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting fidget stickers for students who need them to use during lessons to center their thinking. I believe it will serve as a support by helping focus students on the classroom when their minds begin to wonder. The stickers would be placed inside their notebooks, which they use every class, and it will give students the autonomy to use it when they need it. The stickers won't be a distraction to other students in the class by its concealed location.

The fidgets and graphic novels are meant to enhance student behavior and engagement in my classroom.

This year, I have fostered a wonderful independent reading culture in my room and noticed students prefer graphic novels of diverse backgrounds and topics. I have a class set, so unfortunately I do not have the variety I wish to cultivate in my books. I believe the graphic novels will supplement a legitimate love of reading by allowing students to pick the books they enjoy and at their levels independently outside of instruction.
