This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For my students, having new books to read helps encourage self-efficacy and self-management. After all, what's an English classroom without books? For the most part, books in my classroom are donated from friends and family. By having new books in the classroom, students can choose to read books they wouldn't have seen outside of the classroom. A classroom library is important to an ELA class, especially for students who might not have a library at home.

Books are accessible online through websites and PDFs but there's no better feeling than holding a book in your hand, turning the pages, and seeing exactly how much you've read.
