Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second grade students love to read all kinds of books - mysteries, graphic novels and realistic fiction. Now, I would like to introduce them to books that will make them laugh as well as teach them valuable lessons about how to get along. They want stories that will make them laugh and I want to give them plenty of choices to make them want to read MORE!

Read aloud time is the best part of the week and books that make us giggle make everything better.

The Food Group Picture Books are books with characters that students reflect on the difference between poor choices and wise choices. Students will be introduced to a terribly behaved seed and a perfect little egg that learn to change their lives for the better? Each of these characters observe the way their actions and thoughts are helpful or hurtful to those around them and turn their little round lives around.
