Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We will conduct a fetal pig dissection to deepen student understanding of mammalian anatomy through hands-on learning. This is going to be broken up by body system (cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, urogenital, and nervous system). By comparing human anatomical systems to those of the fetal pig, students will visualize and appreciate physiological concepts discussed in class. This project aims to practical skills in the sciences. My students are curious about anatomy and physiology since many of them are either interested in the medical field or the veterinary field.

This will serve to challenge and enlighten students to hopefully continue their pursuit in the life sciences.
