This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sixth grade is around the time where girls become women... they start getting their monthly periods. Many times, it's very unexpected, and comes during class or during the school day. In events like these, students should have the resources that they need, despite the ever-growing cost of feminine hygiene products.
I had a conversation with many girls from my homeroom a few days ago.
It went about as good as you would expect - Most of the girls knew it was going to happen or happens monthly, but didn't have much knowledge about it or why it happens. While educating them about this is not in my job description, it was definitely something I know I needed to do. They should know what happens, why it happens, and what they need to do or have when it does happen. That is why I am so grateful for people like you, who are willing to donate to our cause! Please help me help my students have the appropriate resources that they need during this BIG transition in their lives! Thank you in advance!
