it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Social emotional learning is very important in Pre-K. They are learning to get along with others, use their words, and to show empathy towards others. Social Emotional resources are just as important as educational resources.
Social Emotional learning is extremely important, and handling emotions is vital in Pre-K.
With these resources, students will have access to tools that will help them regulate their emotions, such as weighted stuffed animals, sensory materials, and calming tools. My hope is to provide a nurturing environment for my students to use when they are sad, angry, anxious or any other emotion that may interfere with their ability to focus during a lesson. These resources include weighted stuffed animals, sensory tubes, and animal squishies to help maintain focus and aid in emotional regulation.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
