Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with students with a wide range of needs and challenges. Despite this, they are resilient! They always love coming to counseling and are ready to play, talk and learn. Through play, we learn to socialize - to share, take turns, cooperate, and be patient. We read books, use dolls to role play to role play situations, stress release with yoga and squishes, make wishes with wands, and make art to show how we feel.

One of the most essential skills in life is learning how to control our bodies and emotions.

We forget that children can undergo many different feelings and experience as much stress as any adult. But, unlike adult, children need an outlet and they learn through play and activities. Our students need resources to engage with so they can learn to understand, manage and express themselves in the world.
