My Students
Although I have not met my students yet, I am sure they will all becoming back to school with lots of emotions after a year and a half of dealing with the chaos of COVID and remote learning. Part of those emotions will probably be anxiety and apprehension that will make learning difficult at first.
I know that these amazing 7/8 years old will burst into my classroom understanding more about his/her place in the world as well as understanding that they are unique and will want to explore how that makes them special in this world.They will be paying more attention to friendships and teamwork.They’re ready to be challenged and excited to work with their peers.
My Project
With these books and TPT resources, it will help ease the tension of coming back to in-person learning. All students, no matter what grade need to feel that there are in a safe environment in order to be open to learning new things. Students will have the opportunity to read SEL books independently during class to help them regulate they way they may be feeling. They will also be read to the entire class so that students may share thoughts amongst one another.
My ultimate goal is for the students to feel apart of our classroom family and feel confident in their capabilities.Learning loss is very important and the need to support them is a priority but so is building positive relationships.
