Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Middle school is a significant transition period for students academically, socially, and personally. As I prepare to welcome my sixth-grade class for the 2024-2025 school year, I aim to help them feel confident and supported in this transition. Every year, I work to provide my students with engaging lessons and the support they need as they become young adults. Before students can achieve academic success they need to feel safe, secure, and valued in their environment.

My goal is always to ensure my students are confident they will receive what they need when they walk into my classroom.

While many classroom supplies can last a while, items that always need to be refreshed are the ones that help us to stay clean and organized. Wipes, deodorant, and hygiene items will help my students to feel clean and confident during the long school day. Pencil pouches will help my students to stay organized and accountable for their belongings. Small snacks will keep students full and focused. Our school is an older building and is preparing to undergo a remodel; things like disinfectant wipes, a Swiffer mop, a broom, and an air purifier will help to keep our classroom fresh so that we can learn in a clean and healthy environment.
