My Students

I teach the English portion of our school's Spanish Immersion program. This means I have a total of 40 wonderful 5 to 6 year old learners, with two classes of 20 students. I absolutely love teaching language arts and sharing my passion for reading and writing with them. I am so excited when my students learn to read and love to read and write!

COVID-19 has really made consistency and learning challenging for this group of deserving Kindergartners.

My kindergarten students attend a high poverty Pre-K to 5th grade elementary school. have a very diverse population of students in my classroom. Many of my students come from high-poverty homes and are not given opportunities to engage in appropriate social behaviors with same-age peers.

My Project

Help me provide my students with Play-Doh and accessories to help build their hand muscles as they squeeze and roll the dough. Also, help me build their letter identification and word-building skills with letter stampers.

My students have all fallen behind on their fine motor skills with the pandemic keeping them out of preschools.

With the current push for technology, I have found my students to be lacking those hand muscles needed to begin writing and cutting. It is important to start now to build those muscles before they fall behind. Thank you so much for your support!
