Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in 8th grade. They are extremely self conscious and always wondering how they compare to their peers. They come from low socio-economic backgrounds where sometimes it is very much choosing between them eating and their younger brothers or sisters eating. What we consider items such as hair brushes, combs and hair scrunchies as necessary to them may very well be an "extra" that they could not afford.

Please help my students feel confident on the outside by donating to purchase hair scrunchies, brushes and combs.

I have a special locked cabinet that I keep all these items and students know to grab the key and get whatever they need whenever they need it no questions asked. I store other sanitary needs as well.
