Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students come to school and are excited about learning new things everyday. My goal is to help my students achieve their goals and provide them a safe environment where they will be able to focus on learning. My classroom is composed of students with different backgrounds, special needs and learning styles.

While students come enthusiastic each day it is my duty to be able to provide them various ways in exploring new ideas.

With proper guidance my goal is for the students to become independent and to be able to find answers for themselves.

My Project

My students have the super power of Autism. One of their super powers is feeling their feelings extra. What this means is they show their emotions more times in their actions versus their words. When they are happy, their whole body shows it. This is especially true when they are participating in sensory activities such as music, dance, and hands on activities.

Everyday is a new adventure for them and something new to learn using their senses.

For this reason, our class would benefit greatly from sensory items, such as sand, lights, and magnet tiles. A bean bag would be a great addition to our class as well because it would provide seating for our classroom library, as well as a place to take a break.

I want to continue to support their learning and curiosity. I hope to expose them to new ways of expressing their emotions and ultimately aiding in their growth.
