Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every week, my students have the opportunity to earn Fun Friday through points they collect for behavior and classwork. Some of the things we like to encourage is direct interactions with each other instead of having them play online games.
Instead of having them on chromebooks for Fun Fridays, I want them to have various games and activities they can choose from.
These games encourage them to build their social, interpersonal skills and foster strong bonds with each other. Many of my students got to know each other this year and I would like to continue to foster those relationships. Majority of my students come from low-income households and do not have many opportunities to play board games. This project will allow my students to not only have a fun time, but help continue to build a community in our classroom and foster communication.
