Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My finance seniors not only get to learn the foundational skills and information needed to start their financial freedom journey, but they also get to increase their emotional intelligence while deepening their conversational and active listening skills. This is essential due to the significant correlation between dealing with finances, managing emotions, and maintaining effective communication.

These notebooks and bin organizers will support my students in journaling their thoughts, feelings, and progress on their goals.

We will have a class set of notebooks so students can journal at the beginning and end of the week with plans and reflections, and the set of tiny notebooks is for students to take with them and journal throughout the week.

The remaining non-book items, including conversation cards and chips, along with some sensory items, will mainly be used during our restorative circles. Because I'm trained in Restorative Justice, my students build community and their SEL skills at the start of every week in a whole-class circle or small groups, so these items will help greatly for attention, collective cleanup, and conversation prompts.

My students are all eager to learn and help make a difference in their family or community, but they and I just need more resources to show them the way.
