My Project

I am a guidance counselor and always have food in my desk for students who left without breakfast or just come to see me and are hungry. As word spreads that I will give out granola bars or crackers, students not even on my caseload come to me looking for a snack. I am having trouble keeping up with the demand as food has gotten so expensive.

I never want to see a student go hungry.

Oftentimes, just providing a needed snack puts a smile on their faces and helps them successfully navigate the rest of their day. These are students in a Bronx high school with a high percentage of students from low-income homes.
