Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students in this small, tight-knit district in the heart of the California desert are truly incredible. Their curiosity and enthusiasm for science and STEM activities are inspiring! To support and encourage our 5th through 8th graders in exploring STEM-related fields, we’ve created a dedicated STEM Center on campus—a safe, nurturing space where students can innovate, collaborate, and grow.

As an Equity Focus School, we are committed to meeting the needs of the whole child, my goal is not only to support academic achievement but also to ensure every student feels cared for, supported, and empowered to succeed.

One way I hope to further support my students is by offering healthy snacks for those moments when hunger strikes. Having access to nourishing snacks can make a meaningful difference—helping students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.
