Feeding Families During CoVid

Help me give my students food security. Students are able to go to the school to pick up breakfast and lunch. That leaves hungry evenings and weekends, and is not sufficient for growing, learning children.

My Students

We live in the current epicenter of the pandemic. Our families are dealing with loss of loved ones, sick family members, and unemployment. Our students are essential workers - working at grocery stores or caring for younger siblings as their families go to their required jobs. And in the midst of this, our students are attempting to learn and earn their high school diplomas. Students report that they need food. Without this basic need, students cannot learn.

We need to support students and their families NOW.

We do not have time to wait for the government to provide the essentials to our families. Help us provide food and basic supplies to the people who need it most.

My Project

School staff has volunteered to do curbside drop off of food to families that cannot leave their homes in the pandemic. It's easy for some of us to put in a food delivery, but this privilege is not accessible to everyone.

Can you learn when you are hungry?

When thinking about how to get the next meal, our students cannot focus on their learning. Our students need support of basic needs in order to reach their bigger goals of high school diplomas. Our families without internet access or who are under mandatory quarantine need us. Please help us support those that need it most right now.
