My Project

I have a girls empowerment group called Girls of Excellence. Our mission is to give young girls, in grades 6-9, an early advantage in achieving their goals and dreams. We will achieve this by providing one-on-one mentoring, leadership workshops, and community engagement activities that will promote goal setting, self-awareness, community involvement, college and career readiness, academic empowerment, and financial literacy. Our girls are truly special! They are always looking for ways to make our community better. They are the sweetest and smartest young ladies you would ever meet.

This year, we are particularly excited about our upcoming Leadership Development Workshop Series, which aims to prepare our mentees for successful careers and active citizenship.

We will host afterschool leadership meetings every other week with the girls this school year. With being in school for 7 hours each day, our girls are starving by the end of the day. The goal of this project is to hopefully get some donors who could help provide snacks for these young ladies to have before our meetings, until they leave to go home, which will be 2 hours after school ends.

Your donation will help provide snacks for all 35 girls for at least 9 meetings, which is 50% of our school year meetings. Your generous contribution will directly impact our ability to provide these essential resources and ensure that we can continue to offer high-quality, impactful programming for these amazing young ladies without having to worry about finding a way to provide snacks for our girls during our meetings.
