Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach wonderful, inquisitive kindergarten students in a high need school. They come to school each day ready to learn and I'm ready to teach them!

My students are active and eager 4 and 5 year olds who love hands-on learning!

The best way for young children to learn is by actually doing something that is fun and educational such as cooking. It is my goal to teach cooking every week to promote healthy eating in my class. Many of the children often consider candy, chips, and soda as "good" food and I want to expose them to delicious healthy food that they can eat and enjoy.

My Project

It is my goal to have healthy cooking every Friday in my class. I have a large class and we need an extra large convection oven to cook enough food for the entire class in the time we have allotted for cooking. We also need bakeware and silicone baking sheets to bake healthy food each week. By cooking each week, not only will my students learn all about healthy eating but they will also learn math and science in a fun way!

Through your donations, my class can begin eating right and learning life-long habits of healthy eating and living.
