My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to believe in themselves the way I do. The students in my classroom are comprised of general education students, as well as students with various learning and emotional disabilities. On top of educational and emotional disabilities, many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty coming to school.

With that being said, how can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed?

The typical student in my class reads below grade level and many struggles with basic phonics and number sense. Their desire to achieve success in school is the driving force behind our desire to give them the world.

My Project

With all students returning to school this year and the need to maintain social distancing overcrowding can be a problem. To help mitigate this issue in the cafeteria lunchtimes begins earlier. With that being said, our students are often hungry in the mid-afternoon. This prevents their bodies from having the fuel they need to push through the remainder of the school day.

Help give our students the necessary fuel they need to be productive and motivated learners.

These snacks will help us provide the fuel they need to be successful learners!
