My Students

My students are exceptional second-grade students! They are so patient, loving, respectful, and caring individuals. I decided to create this wish for them because they deserve it! Every day they come to school prepared and ready to go! They work hard in everything they do! I am truly blessed to have every one of them in my class this year. My students love to learn about animals, Earth, space, communities, science, and how things work!

My students are unique in that they are readers.

They love to read! I would love to provide them with good quality literature as well as a variety of literature at varying reading levels. They also need literacy activities that will help with their development in reading. We are in need of novel sets, literacy games/ activities, high-level interest books (such as nonfiction books), and guided reading books. This will allow my students to continue to develop their love of reading as well as build confidence as they transition from learning to read to reading to learn.

My Project

It is my wish to provide my students with an environment where learning to read is fun and engaging! I plan to do this through small guided reading groups, literacy centers, and a classroom library full of books where my students choose what they want to read. This wish will make a difference to my students in so many ways! By allowing my students choices in what they want to read will empower them to read! The only way we get better at reading is through practice. We are in need of books and materials to nurture this type of environment.
