Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently, I am enrolled in an online night course where we meet weekly on Zoom. I am using a tablet because my current laptop unfortunately is too slow, outdated, and the Zoom upgrade does not work properly. Therefore, I need a more reliable and effective laptop when I attend workshops and night school in person or online. As the summer approaches, I plan to attend several workshops and summer courses to enhance my knowledge, acquire more resources, and attain more skills to be a more effective educator to my students. I have a passion for growth and development and like to transpire that within my classroom family. We are lifelong learners.

Not only will a new laptop benefit me when attending professional development, but it will also help me plan lessons outside of school and I can use the laptop during small groups to help support me when I integrate Reading Horizons.

I teach 1st grade where my kiddos need support in acquiring reading and math skills. First grade is a critical time to build a foundation in their learning so having the right materials and resources will assist their learning. I also have students with diverse learning needs who need more hands-on, interactive, and visual materials. Using a laptop during small groups provides them with visuals and interactive activities that can help them build those necessary skills to help them succeed in their education. I would truly appreciate if you could please help fund my project so I have a more reliable and powerful laptop to assist me and support my kiddos learning in the classroom.
