This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will upcycle denim and shoes into creative one of a kind wearable art. They are learning about how fast fashion is harming our environment, and ways to reverse this trend. My students also are tasked with finding ways to recycle denim as a measure to aid in water conservation. Their creations will be showcased in an Earth Day fashion show for all students in the school to bring awareness of the harmful effects of fast fashion. Moreover, to highlight how each one of them can do their part in making a much needed change in the fashion industry.
