My Students

I teach a well-rounded, diverse group of preschoolers, in the Bronx, NY. They range in age from 3-5 and their families come from different economic and ethnic backgrounds. I do my best, every day, to make learning fun and as hands on as possible. This year, my goal is to stray from using too many man-made materials, in favor of using more natural Eco-friendly supplies and materials, such as would be seen in Reggio-Emilia themed preschool classrooms. I would be most grateful and appreciative for all the support and help from any donors! Thank you everyone!!

My Project

Having our very own market stand, in the classroom, would enable the children to role play as if they were at the Farmer's Market, buying and selling produce and wares from fruit and vegetables to flowers. The stand includes real straw baskets, instead of plastic, and the stand can, also, be used as a puppet theatre so that the children can be encouraged to use their imaginations and verbal communication with eachother. With this new piece of furniture added to the drama center, the children will receive much enrichment in areas of math and phonics. Materials can be added to it seasonally.
